Courier deliveries outside Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland are delivered on Tuesday 23 August 2022.

Remaining meals are delivered Thursday 25 August 2022.

Primal Kitchen is based out of Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland however we do Nationwide Courier orders to get you your yummy primal goodness. We deliver in the Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland region on a Monday and a Thursday and everywhere else in the country on a Tuesday and a Thursday

The Primal Kitchen Chefs are at the top of their game in paleo cooking. Not just delivering a healthy meal but a delicious meal at that. Way more than just a standard meal delivery service, we strive to cook tasty and healthy with no compromise on either!

The philosophy in the kitchen is that the food needs to look as good as it tastes and we strive to achieve this everyday.

So if you are thinking about trying our food for whatever reason there is out there be it health, fitness, general wellbeing, time constraints, just plain hungry then stop, don’t and take a leap and order! Your body will love you for it.

 

If you are new to the primal lifestyle, you might be asking, “What does eating primal mean?”

The simple answer often given is to “eat like a caveman.”

While that’s the general idea, no one expects you to go out and forage for your food.

Living primal means eating the way humans had adapted to for 200,000 years prior to the development of modern agriculture. That means a diet high in protein, fat, and low-GI carbohydrates.

We cook and deliver fresh (not frozen) meals twice a week – Monday and Thursday in the greater Auckland Region, Wellington region as well as the Christchurch region.

Couriered meals outside of Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch are delivered on a Tuesday and Thursday,

Each meal has reheating instructions on the meals for microwave and conventional oven.

We offer Dairy Free, Nut Free, Low Starch (for the keto customers) options – just make a note of your food preferences in your order notes.

We are paleo based so all our meals automatically are Gluten Free, Grain Free, Preservative Free and we use no refined sugars.

We use high quality protein – regular meals have 150 grams of cooked protein and warrior meals have 250 grams.

Our chefs change the menu weekly on a Saturday.

Ordering is a week in advance, so if you order from the menu showing on the website it will be delivered to you the following week – ordering closes at 9PM each Friday for meals to be delivered the next week.   Delivery dates are shown on the homepage

 

This is only for our in-house delivery service for Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch

Please leave a chilly bin or cooler bag out if you will not be home to receive your delivery.  Could you please state on your order under “order notes” where this will be located.

If a chilly bin or cooler bag is not left outside, your meals will be left in the most shaded spot possible.

We also have several options if you are not able to be home to receive the meals or have an insulated bin for delivery. These can be purchased in the single meal pack section or meal pack sections of the stores.

Meals delivered in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch are on a Monday and Thursday.

 

This is only for courier deliveries for areas outside of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and is delivered by CourierPost

Meals are shipped overnight with Courierpost or New Zealand Couriers. They will come in either a chilltainer or insulated box and 2 icepacks.

Couriered meals will arrive on a Tuesday and a Thursday.

Tuesday delivery will be meals marked Monday – Wednesday on our website.
Thursday delivery will be meals marked Thursday – Sunday on our website.

1 delivery options will either only be Monday-Wednesday Meals or Thursday – Sunday Meals.
You cannot mix these meals unless you order the 2 delivery option.

Meal Packs will require 2 delivery option when ordering.

Our ingredients are “real foods” – they are unprocessed and  free of preservatives.  Primal Kitchen chefs do not use grains, wheat (flour), refined sugar.  We use real food like quality fresh produce – vegetables, herbs and fruit, locally supplied meat and eggs.

Meat

All of our meals are made with high quality meat cuts sourced from local suppliers.
Our regular meals have around 150 grams of high quality protein and warrior meals have 250 grams of protein.

Produce

We source our fruits and vegetables from local growers, and change the weekly menu based on what is fresh and in season. Our primal meals are fueled with delicious, wholesome vegetables, utilizing lower-carb options to give you the healthiest meals possible.

Nuts and seeds

Primal snacks and meals use a variety of tree nuts and seeds to add nutrition as well as great flavour to your food.

Flours

People everywhere these days are hopping on the gluten-free bandwagon, but many do so without even knowing what gluten is or why it is harmful. Our meals and packaged products use gluten-free/grain-free flours including coconut, almond, tapioca, and flax meals. These healthier choices are great for baking, though like anything, should be eaten in moderation as they are very nutrient-dense.

Oils

All of our primal meals and snacks are cooked with healthy fats and oils, including coconut oil, olive oil, ghee, and animal fat.

Sweeteners

We occasionally use sweeteners to help make our primal food delicious, but always use natural, healthier options including coconut sugar, manuka honey, blackstrap molasses, date paste, and high-quality dark chocolate. Though these sweeteners are much healthier choices than refined sugars, they should still be eaten in moderation.

Dairy

The occasional use of dairy is part of what separates “paleo” and “primal” eating. We occasionally use full-fat dairy products in our food, but will always offer a dairy-free option for those who cannot tolerate dairy in their diets.

What you won’t find on our menu

Living primal means we will never use grains, gluten, refined sugars, hydrogenated oils, artificial sweeteners, soy, legumes and artificial stuff. Your body will thank you!

We like to give our customers some choice in regards to what they would like to put into their bodies so we have come up with a few meal options which covers some of the other forms of healthier eating.

Standard Primal Meal

The standard primal meal consists of a protein component and usually 2-3 different types of vegetables based on the menu.

They do contain dairy in them if there is a dairy component listed. These are usually creme fresh, sour cream, butter, yoghurt, cheese.

The only carbohydrates used are complex carbohydrates or low-GI starchy vegetables. These are usually kumara, pumpkin, swedes

Dairy Free Option

The Dairy Free Option cuts out all Dairy from any of the meals and this will give you the full Paleo Option.

Dairy is considered a grey area in Paleo Eating however we do include it in our standard option as we believe that it does more good than harm however there are others who advocate against it.

This option will be perfect for those who are lactose intolerant and cannot have any dairy in their diets.

Low Starch / Keto Option

The Low Starch option cuts out the starchy vegetables from our meals. These will be kumara, pumpkin, parsnips and swedes.

The carbohydrate component is substituted with another vegetable in place of that.

We have opted not to remove the carrots and beetroot to allow a bit more variety into the meals(it tends to get a bit boring if we take too much out). If you do not wish to have carrots or beetroot in your meals please state this on your order notes.

This option is perfect for those who wish to eat only meat and vegetables.

Please type in what option you would prefer in your Order Notes. If it is left blank your order will be our standard primal meal.
